OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, November 16, 2017, 6:00-8:30 P.M. SOLO EXHIBIT: Nov. 16  thru Dec. 31

Lisa Schonberg’s, Beyond the Landscape, a lyrical, subtle and visually moving solo exhibit opens at Still Point Gallery Thursday, November 16th at 6:00 p.m.  Through her mastery of a variety of techniques (relief, intaglio, monoprinting and screen printing) the artist pulls us into the swirls whorls and vortices of the natural world as earth, wind and water provide the inspiration for Lisa’s imaginings.

Cleveland has a rich tradition of printmaking and Lisa Schonberg’s work is a not to be missed show, one we have eagerly anticipated.  Please join Lisa, Kate and me at the gallery exhibit space (2026 Murray Hill Rd., Room 106 across the hall from our main gallery) to meet and experience one of this region’s best artists.

PEG FETTER, ARTIST AND METALSMITH

PEG FETTER TRUNK SHOW

Saturday, November 4th, Noon-6:00 p.m.
Drawing for Free Peg Fetter Earrings & Geoff Baker Ltd Ed Print

Peg Fetter is an artist and master metalsmith who creates paradoxes, balancing the tough, durable appearance of oxidized steel with the delicacy and elegance of gold,.  Each piece is hand fabricated and are designed to be worn every day as well as wearable art forms for special occasions.  Her work combines the rustic look of a blacksmith’s hammer with the delicate touch of the artist, gilded selectively with gold.

Studying under Heikki Seppa, the eminent Finnish American metalsmith, Peg received her MFA from Washington University in St. Louis.  She has taught workshops around the country, as well as teaching at Craft Alliance, Fontbonne University, and St. Louis University.

Artist Presentation & Closing Reception: 4:00 p.m., Saturday April 22, 2017 In response to an overwhelming interest in Aimee’s opening night presentation, she has graciously agreed to giving a talk at the close of her exhibit, next Saturday afternoon at 4:00. The artist will describe and discuss the manufacture of hanji papers and her approach and process.  She will be open to any questions and encourages the audience to engage in a conversation.  Still Point will have beverages and light appetizers for the occasion. This is a special event for the gallery and we hope many of you can attend.  There has already been a significant expression of interest and you may want to consider making it an evening in Little Italy at one of the excellent restaurants just down the street or around the corner.
